Wow!

So much has happened since I last posted. I am terrible about keeping up with it, but I do want to share some of our updates. Let's see, my last post said that we didn't have a dishwasher, but after our remodeling project, we have a dishwasher and different cabinets, countertop, carpet in the kids' room, and carpet for our room that has not been laid yet. I painted our bathroom a shade of blue with granite crystals and silver glitter in it. :) I had a silver shower curtain and rug, but I had no idea what color to paint it. I love it! We still have lots we want to do to finish it up, but we are making progress slowly. I need to paint the cabinets a different color. The white doesn't really match the white in my kitchen. I bought paint for my bedroom also and a cute little decal thing for my wall. I cannot wait to get it done! I have a new comforter set and curtains in there also. I have big ideas for the kids' room also, but nothing completely decided on yet. Eventually we will get it finished! I cannot wait. Hopefully we will be ready to add on or do something with the outside by then! Our house has been pretty much completely overhauled. Was going to publish pics, but I have to download them from my camera first.

Jimmy and I are back in college full time. That has been exciting. I'm not crazy about it, but it will be worth it once we are finished. Our kids are thankful that they are done for the summer and here we are in school. They find it funny. Me, well not so much! I am glad that they are done though so that I can focus on mine more than have to grade their work and help them with it too. I took a harder course since they are out of school. Columbia is set up different than East Central was. At East Central there were 16 week semesters. You would take four classes to be considered full time. At Columbia, these are broken up into two-eight week sessions of two courses each. It's a lot of work in a short amount of time. I am hoping to keep my gpa up since I am starting fresh. If I can make it through this first semester, I will feel like I can conquer the world! I am taking College Algebra and it's not an easy task for me! Haha! I always say I can add and subtract, multiply and divide with the best of them! One more thing that I find interesting is that we don't have to have a lab for our science credit. Woo hoo! Life is good!

Speaking of school, we just had our midterms this past weekend and wouldn't you know it was the most eventful week of our summer so far. Josiah got strep throat. He was running a fever and complaining of a headache. I took him to the Urgent Care in Jefferson City. His doctor's office was too busy to see him and the one in Owensville was also. I tried calling St. Mary's in Belle and was hung up on not once, but twice. I am assuming they were having phone trouble? I got him to Urgent Care and they took good care of him. In fact, he saw the same doctor who did his stitches in his forehead back in 2008. They gave him a prescription for amoxicillin and we were on our way. I guess he has never had amoxicillin before. I gave him one dose that evening and another one the next morning. It was time for his next dose and I saw a huge lump on his head. I asked him what happened and he said it was a bite. I guess he thought that since it was itchy. I told him that was not a bite! I asked him if he had any more of them and he said he had one on his knee. Sure enough another huge, red lump on the side of his knee. I called the doctor at Urgent Care and they had me bring him in again. The doctor looked him over and confirmed that he is allergic to amoxicillin, told me to give him some benadryl, and gave him a new script for zithromax. He's so much like his mommy! Lol... The things you don't want your children to inherit from you!

This is the side of his knee. His knee was almost flat on the floor. You can see the welp on the side of his knee. Poor baby! He is cleared up now.
